1. What are NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths Chapter 8 "Carts and Wheels" as per the CBSE syllabus 2025–26?

NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths Chapter 8 "Carts and Wheels" are expert-prepared answers to all textbook exercises based on circles, wheels, and round objects. These solutions follow the CBSE 2025–26 syllabus and guide students with stepwise methods for solving questions related to radius, diameter, centre, and real-life circular objects.

2. How do you find the centre of a circle in Class 4 Maths Chapter 8 "Carts and Wheels"?

To find the centre of a circle as taught in Chapter 8:

  • Fold the paper circle in half, then fold again to make a quarter.
  • The intersection point of both folds is the centre of the circle.
This method is included in NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths Chapter 8.

3. What is the radius of a circle and how is it different from the diameter in the context of Class 4 Maths Chapter 8?

Radius is the distance from the centre of a circle to any point on its edge. Diameter is the longest straight line that passes through the centre and touches two points on the edge. The radius is always half the diameter according to Class 4 Maths NCERT Solutions Chapter 8.

4. Why does a longer rope make a bigger circle, based on NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths Chapter 8?

In Chapter 8, you learn that the length of the rope acts as the radius. A longer rope creates a larger circle because it increases the radius, and a bigger radius means a bigger circle.

5. Which objects around us can be used to trace a circle as per Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions?

Common objects to trace a circle include:

  • Bangle
  • Coin
  • Glass
  • Plate
  • Bowl
These items help explain the concept of circles in NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths Chapter 8.

6. What is the importance of drawing accurate circles in Class 4 Maths Chapter 8 solutions?

Drawing accurate circles builds understanding of centre, radius, and diameter. It helps students visualize geometric concepts practically, supporting better problem-solving accuracy as highlighted in NCERT Solutions for Chapter 8.

7. How can a student decide which is the largest and smallest circle when tracing with different objects?

Compare the sizes by tracing each object and measuring the radius or diameter with a ruler. The object with the largest diameter makes the biggest circle; the one with the smallest diameter makes the smallest circle. This is taught in Class 4 Maths Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions.

8. What concepts related to circles are covered in Class 4 Maths Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions?

NCERT Solutions for Chapter 8 "Carts and Wheels" cover:

  • Identification of round objects
  • Tracing and drawing circles
  • Understanding radius, diameter, and centre
  • Comparing circles by size
  • Application of circles in the real world (wheels, tops, games)

9. Why is keeping the centre fixed important when drawing a circle, according to Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions?

If the centre is not fixed while drawing a circle, the resulting shape will not be a perfect circle and may look uneven or wobbly. This concept is reinforced in Class 4 Maths NCERT Solutions Chapter 8 to help students grasp accuracy in geometry.

10. What is a common mistake students make while finding the centre of a paper circle, as discussed in NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths Chapter 8?

A frequent mistake is not folding the circle exactly in half or quarters, which leads to an incorrect centre point. Proper folding is necessary for accurate results, as suggested in Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions.

11. How does Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions for Class 4 Maths promote practical understanding of circles in daily life?

By involving activities like tracing circles with objects, measuring with ropes, and identifying round items in the environment, the solutions make geometry relatable and encourage observation skills among students.

12. What happens if the stick of a spinning top is placed away from the centre, as explained in Class 4 Maths Chapter 8?

If the stick is not at the centre, the top will not spin well or may wobble. For best spinning, the stick must be fixed at the exact centre, a concept illustrated in NCERT Solutions for Chapter 8 Carts and Wheels.

13. How can students verify if all wheels of a vehicle are of the same radius, according to Chapter 8 NCERT Solutions?

Students can measure the radius of each wheel with a thread or measuring tape. This checks if all wheels are the same size, a practical approach emphasized in Class 4 Maths NCERT Solutions Chapter 8.
