When Japan entered the war with America, by attacking Pearl Harbour, Hawaii and overran the complete South-East Asia in a few weeks. Japan set up Headquarters in Bangkok, jaded by Fujiwara Iwaichi, to initiate friendship with Malayan multans, oversee Chinese and Indian Independence movement.
Fujiwara Iwaichi handed over thousands of Indian soldiers who had surrendered to him, to Mohan Singh. This was the initial step to the formation of the First INA.

The army was revived under the leadership of Subhas Chandra Bose in 1943.The army was declared to be the Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind (Free India Provisional Government) Army of Bose. The INA attracted ex-prisoners and thousands of civilian volunteers from the Indians living in Malaya (today known as Malaysia) and Burma under Bose's leadership.
