This book is a detailed account of his life, written by the author Banabhatta. Banabhatta was the Asthana Kavi i.e. the court poet of emperor Harsha. Banabhatta also known as Bana was one of the most famous Sanskrit prose and poet writers of his time, in the 7th century. Even the book ‘Harshacharita’ written by him is written in the most fluent and fanciful style in the language of Sanskrit. This book was one of his first compilations and contributions to Sanskrit Prose.
